ROCKFORD - Green Bay Packers defensive end Dean Lowry will make a stop at SwedishAmerican Wednesday afternoon to visit patients and share stories from his first year in the NFL. The Rockford native will visit with patients in SwedishAmerican's pediatrics, oncology, surgery and orthopedic departments.

Lowry, 22, is a Boylan Catholic High School and Northwestern University alumnus. He spent the last year as a rookie for the Green Bay Packers registering two sacks and eight tackles.

"We are grateful to Dean for taking the time to share some highlights of his exciting first year in the NFL with those in our hospital who could use a bit of encouragement right now," said SwedishAmerican President and CEO Dr. Bill Gorski. "Our community is proud of Dean and what he's accomplished, and we wish him success in the NFL for many more years to come."

Lowry will tour the hospital beginning at 2 p.m. before a short question and answer session with the media.
