NEENAH - Sam Dekker and Olivia Harlan Dekker will co-host the Gold Ribbon Gala to benefit the Children’s Cancer Family Foundation of Northeast Wisconsin.

The evening of cocktails, dinner and a live auction will be held at 6 p.m. May 10 at Bridgewood Resort Hotel & Conference Center.

It’s a cause close to the couple’s heart.

In lieu of gifts for their wedding last summer in Door County, the high-profile couple asked guests and fans to donate to CCFF. They raised more than $65,000 for the Neenah-based nonprofit that lifts spirits and provides financial assistance to local families battling pediatric cancer.

Dekker is a Sheboygan native who plays for the Washington Wizards, and Harlan Dekker is an ESPN and Westwood One sideline reporter, and the granddaughter of former Green Bay Packers president and CEO Bob Harlan.

Tickets for this year’s event are $100 each at ccffnew.org/gold-ribbon-gala.

Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver James Jones co-hosted last year’s inaugural gala with Harlan Dekker.

Dekker and Harlan Dekker will celebrate their first wedding anniversary on July 14. She revealed a fun detail about their wedding day on social media this week: “Not a lot of people know this, but on the morning of our wedding, Sam and his buddies all played basketball at the local high school (@gibraltarareaschools). Ton of former Badgers! Now THAT’S how you start the most important day of your life.”
