Crestview graduate and current Washington Redskin offensive guard Kory Lichtensteiger will be holding his second annual football camp at Crestview High School Saturday and Sunday for football players entering grades 3-12.

Michigan's Kirk Cousins Recognized As One Of The Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award Winners

Former Michigan State University quarterback Kirk Cousins made the list of 24 Big Ten student-athletes who were awarded the Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award for 2011-2012.

The award goes to student-athletes who display positive sportsmanship throughout the school year, and they must be in good academic standing the whole year. Also, each student-athlete must demonstrate good citizenship outside of their sport.

Smiles abounded at yesterday’s workouts, but perhaps none brighter than running back Roy Helu’s.

Helu started the offseason injured, and in a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend, Danielle.  After rehabbing his legs back to full health, he returned to Nebraska to spend quality time with his beloved–for really, the first time ever.

With this afternoon’s signing of safety Madieu Williams, the Redskins have added another DMV-native and lifelong Redskins fan, joining Josh Wilson, Joshua Morgan, Will Montgomery, Kevin Barnes, Evan Royster, and Travon Bellamy on the current roster.

He also joins Barnes as another former Maryland Terrapin playing in the Redskins secondary.

Barry Cofield Signs With Redskins

After giving Barry Cofield a restricted free agent tender and nearly dealing him to the Saints last year, the Giants sat back last night while Cofield agreed to terms with the Redskins on a new six-year, $36-million deal.

Or so it seemed.

Truth is, the Giants mounted much more of a fight than Cofield thought they would.
